What's with the plain-Jane site, there, bub?

We assure you, this is no ordinary site... We've simply chosen to drop styling support for aging browsers, and put them out to pasture (so to speak). It seems that you're using one, but that's no big deal. In fact, this site is so well-crafted that all the content is still accessible without any styling at all (we'd like to see most sites boast that these days).

However, if you want to download a current standards-compliant browser, we suggest Firefox. If you must use Internet Explorer, we won't hold it against you, but you should at least be using version 7.

Pay No Attention to that Man Behind the Curtain!

When you hire a design firm, you really don't want to be bothered with all the technical details. You don't need to how the strings are pulled to make the magic happen, you just want to know that the wizard's behind there somewhere. My goal is to be that sort of wizard for you by exceeding your expectations, providing the best value in design work, and staying current in web trends.

About The Team

Michael Guill, 107 Designs Owner

Michael Guill, Designer/Developer

Team? What team? I'm the sole proprietor, designer, developer, photographer, sales force, and accounting department. When I'm not performing some sort of Interweb jiggery-pokery, I enjoy competing in triathlons, traveling with my family, drinking a nice glass of Sangiovese, and writing about myself in third person.

My Background

I have been involved in technology for a long time. My first computer was a Commodore 64, purchased with the proceeds from an entire summer of cutting grass in my neighborhood. I was ten years old and writing my first code in BASIC. Back then there was no default storage, you simply left the computer on if you didn't want your program erased. By the time I was in high school, I was writing in Pascal and dabbling in COBOL, saving my work on 5¼" floppies.

Since then I've had some college and a few careers... I've worked for restaurants, defense agencies, schools (elementary and university), and now, myself. My programming language of choice now is PHP, and I like to use as much open-source software as possible. I tend to play devil's advocate and I cheer for the underdog, which is why I prefer to use Apple computers, PalmOS handhelds, and Linux servers.

Lest you think I'm just another über-geek (which I am), I also have a life. I'm an amateur triathlete and quite a talent in the kitchen (so I'm told). I speak Japanese (hontou ni), play guitar, fix my own cars, and I'm pretty handy with power tools. I've also been a stay-at-home dad since my daughter was 6 months old (she's 6 years old now), but don't call me Mr. Mom.
